This
is a preparatory study for the fresco on the south wall of the
Chiaroscuri Hall in the Vatican. It corresponds mainly to the finished
work but allows us to see the functions of “work in progress” of the
drawing. The back part of the bull, for example, is just sketched
because in the fresco it was supposed to be half covered by a door.

preparatorio per un affresco sulla parete sud della sala dei Chiaroscuri
in Vaticano. Corrisponde in gran parte all’opera eseguita, ma permette
di vedere la funzione di “lavori in corso” dei disegni. La parte
posteriore del toro, ad esempio, è appena schizzata; anche perché
destinata a essere tagliata, nell’affresco, da una porta. Eseguito tra
il 1515 e il 1516.
