THE NATIVITY SCENE BY GRECCIO 
This scene represents the blessed Francis ordering the preparation of the nativity scene by bringing hay, the ox and the donkey, praying at the nativity scene of the poor King. Whilst the saintly man prays, a knight notices the real baby Jesus in place of the one brought by the Saint. Apart from the splendid and undoubtedly autographic nature of this fresco, other more mediocre artists had a hand in the monk’s heads on the right and those of the women behind the lectern.

IL PRESEPE DI GRECCIO
Viene rappresentata la scena in cui il beato Francesco ordinò che si preparasse il presepe, che si portasse il fieno e che si conducessero il bue e l’asino e predicò sulla natività del Re povero. Mentre il Santo uomo pregava, un cavaliere scorse il vero bambino Gesù al posto di quello portato dal Santo.
In questo affresco a parti stupende e sicuramente autografe, come la croce in alto e il Santo col bambino in braccio, se ne alternano altre di fattura piuttosto mediocre, le teste dei frati sulla destra e quelle delle donne dietro il leggio.
