calibrata distribuzione delle masse plastiche, dal rilievo molto più
risentito rispetto alle altre parti della decorazione. |

of the Dead
Maitani's relief does not attempt a
monumental definition of the figures. Once the demands of the doctrinal
system have been met, there is an irrepressible pursuit of fantasy,
with an accentuated taste for the grotesque. Without adhering to a
purely episodic and ornamental theatricality, the work submits to the
laws of an impeccable and highly decorative rhythm.
