Anonimo   Dormitio Virginis Più nervosa ed esasperata la maniera della suggestiva «Dormitio Virginis», certo d'altra mano. Per la ricchezza delle esperienze che sembrano confluire in questi stucchi lombardi, è ragionevole una datazione oltre il 1000, ma sempre al di quà del Romanico; da quel rivoluzionario linguaggio figurativo, infatti, questi rilievi sono profondamente separati per l'aulico e posato classicismo dell'uno e per l'eccitata e capziosa fragilità dell'altro.	Anonimo    Dormition of the Virgin The chronology of medieval stucco work is most controversial, for its facile and rapid technique permitted a fluid variety in its elements and styles. The manner of the Civate Dormitio Virginis is nervous and exacerbated. Because a wealth of artistic experiment seems to converge in these Lombard works of stucco, they can be reasonably dated later than 1000 - stopping short, however, of the Romanesque. Indeed there is a profound gulf between the revolutionary figurative vocabulary of the Romanesque and these reliefs, between the hierarchical and weighty classicism of the former and the excited, deceptive fragility of the latter.
