questo un esempio di decorazione scultorea in uso in Lombardia durante
l'età longobarda. Il rilievo risentito e carnoso potrebbero far
pensare, come é stato ipotizzato da qualcuno, ad epoche posteriori; ma
tali caratteristiche meglio si giustificano come sopravvivenze di moduli
paleocristiani nel VII secolo. |

This is an example of
sculptural decoration in use in Lombardy during the Longobard period. It has
been suggested that this fleshy and vigorous relief might be an example of an
earlier period but these characteristics may be better justified as something
from the paleo-Christian period of the 7th century.
