due statue è un fatto piuttosto eccezionale nell'opera dello scultore
bolognese, che già nella tomba di Leone XI, «marmi della più bella
candidezza che si trovi», aveva reagito polemicamente agli esuberanti
ritmi del Bernini, per una più rigorosa ortodossia compositiva. |

exceptional in the work of this Bolognese sculptor. Earlier, in the tomb
of Leo XI ("marbles of the most beautiful whiteness that can be
found"), he had reacted with polemic vigor against Bernini's
exuberant rhythms in favor of a more orthodox composition. |
