Buddhists the Shwedagon Paya is the most sacred place in the whole of
the country and they hope to visit it at least once in their lives. Legend
tells that the majestic zedi contain the eight chapels of Buddha. The powerful zedi is none other than one of the many constructions that form the enormous religious complex of Shwedagon It is pleasant to wander among the various temples, pavilions, pictures of Buddha, bell-towers and domes and, besides being a place for observation, new sensations may be experienced everywhere.
