The Code of the types of decoration

PERIOD: First half of the XVI century

DESCRIPTION: Design formed by symmetrical and mirror-like shapes that form large, double pointed ovals, trails of ivy, knotty tree trunks, and leaves enclosing pinecones, amphorae and floral compositions. Further characteristic elements of this period are the frames, nearly always in gold, and the heraldic motifs. The unit is wide and includes the width of the material.

TECHNIQUE: Cut velvet, ciselé, pile on pile velvet, brocatelle, damasks, lampass with brocade trams, gold or silver bouclé.

ORIGIN: There was an evolution of fifteenth century decorative motifs together with an assimilation of dominant architectural motifs.

La Codifica dei tipi di decorazione

PERIODO: Prima metà del secolo XVI.

DESCRIZIONE: Disegno impostato in forma simmetrica e speculare che si concretizza in grandi ovali, a doppia punta, di tralci d’edera, di tronchi nodosi, di foglie racchiudenti pigne, anfore e composizioni floreali. Ulteriori elementi caratteristici del periodo sono le cornici quasi sempre in oro ed i motivi araldici. Il rapporto è ampio e può comprendere tutta l’altezza della stoffa.

TECNICA: Velluti tagliati, cesellati, alto-bassi, broccatelli, damaschi, lampassi con trame broccate, bouclé in oro e argento.

ORIGINE: Evoluzione dei motivi decorativi quattrocenteschi unita alla assimilazione dei motivi architettonici dominanti.

CLOTHING FABRICS

PERIOD: From 1580-1630

DESCRIPTION:Small flowering branches within dotted frames, linked rings in iron net, alternate club-like trunks, small animals together with small flowers.

TECHNIQUE: Cut velvet, ciselé velvet, embroidered velvet, stamped velvet, satins and brocatelles.

ORIGIN: Together with a study of the creation of wide designs, largely used in internal decorating, is that which prepares the material for clothing in a first attempt to adapt the design to a reduced form.

I TESSUTI D’ABBIGLIAMENTO

PERIODO: Dal 1580 al 1630

DESCRIZIONE: Piccoli rami fioriti entro cornici punteggiate, anelli incatenati come una grata in ferro, mazze tronche in posizione alternata, piccoli animali frammisti a piccoli fiori.

TECNICA:Velluti tagliati, velluti cesellati,velluti- ricamo, velluti impressi, rasi e broccatelli.

ORIGINE: Accanto ad uno studio nella creazione di disegni ampi, molto adatti alla decorazione degli ambienti, si forma quello che prepara le stoffe adatte alle vesti, con un primo tentativo di specializzazione dei disegni con rapporti ridotti.
