UPHOLSTERING FABRICS

PERIOD: From the middle to the end of the XVII century

DESCRIPTION: A succession of verticals with a tram at the height of the fabric, floral motifs with trails of ivy that form ovals enclosing compositions of irises, tulips, ears of corn, grapes and peonies. There is often a wreath blocking the tangent points in the frame.

TECHNIQUE: Embroidered velvet, ciselé velvet, satin and damask

ORIGIN: Splendid Baroque ornamentation pushed to its limits in line with the pompous style of the furniture.

TESSUTI DA RIVESTIMENTO

PERIODO: Dalla metà alla fine del secolo XVII

DESCRIZIONE: Successioni verticali, con rapporto a tutta altezza del tessuto, di motivi floreali e tralci di acanto che divergendo formano ovali racchiudenti composizioni di iris, tulipani, spighe, uva e peonie.Spesso una corona lega nei punti di tangenza l’incorniciatura.

TECNICA: Velluti ricamo, velluti cesellati, rasi e damaschi.

ORIGINE: Fasto del barocco, ornamentazione spinta all’eccesso e sintonia con lo stile pomposo del mobilio.

LYON

PERIOD: Last quarter of the XVII century

DESCRIPTION: Sequences of flowers placed horizontally, alternatively orientated in opposite directions; oval frames containing floral compositions and series of undulating vertical branches that enclose polychrome flower buds.

TECHNIQUE: Lampass, satin, twill, taffeta, brocade, extended tabby and other types of light weave

ORIGIN: Return to the decorative and a predominately floral-naturalistic style.

LIONE

PERIODO: Ultimo quarto del secolo XVII

DESCRIZIONE: Sequenza di fiori disposti in linea orizzontale, orientati alternatamente in direzioni opposte; cornici ovaliformi racchiudenti composizioni floreali, serie di racemi ondulanti in verticale che racchiudono in volute circolari policromi boccioli di fiori.

TECNICA: Lampassi, rasi,spine, taffetas, broccati, gros ed altri tipi di armatura leggera.

LACE DESIGN

PERIOD: From 1680 to the middle of the XVIII century

DESCRIPTION:Large ovals or lateral frames and "lace-like" mirrors enclosing elaborate flower compositions and exotic and fantastic fruit.

TECHNIQUE: Lampass, damasks, satins, tabbies and taffetas

ORIGIN: This is an imitation of the twill so much in fashion at the end of Louis XIV's reign.

IL DISEGNO A PIZZO

PERIODO: Dal 1680 alla metà del secolo XVIII.

DESCRIZIONE: Grandi ovali o cornici laterali e speculari “a pizzo” racchiudono al loro interno elaborate composizioni di fiori e di frutti anche di aspetto esotico e fantastico.

TECNICA: lampassi, damaschi, rasi, gros, taffetas.

ORIGINE: Imitazione delle trine tanto di moda verso la fine del regno di Luigi XIV.
