ARATESVANK'
/ Xllth-Xlllth centuries
The monastery is located near the village of Aysasi in the district of Ełegnadzor.
It is composed of a group of churches oriented towards the east which
are adjacent and closely linked within a rectangular perimeter in front
of which rises the gavit of the main church. The roof of the gavit,
which has partially collapsed, rested on a singular structure which is
still intact. This was composed of two parallel arches oriented in an
east-west direction and a third oriented to the north-south which
appears to intersect the first two but actually breaks off at the top
creating a square source of light topped by a smaller octagonal lantern.
